Join in the Celebrations for Italian Food Week
Italian food fans from around the world will get the chance to revel in their favourite food as one of the world’s most loved cuisines gets celebrated globally, in the Week of Italian Cuisine from 20 to 26 November.
This year’s festivities are expected to be just as extensive as last year’s inaugural edition, with over 1300 events putting Italian food and wine under the spotlight in an impressive 105 different countries.
Conferences, tastings, gala dinners, cooking courses, concerts and exhibitions will animate embassies, consulates, Italian Culture Institutes and other selected locations in every participating country throughout the week. Hundreds of Italian restaurants will also stage special menus showcasing best of Italian gastronomy.

Two Michelin star chef Mauro Uliassi will discsuss “Street food of quality” at the Buca Osteria & Bar (Yorkville Venue 53 Scollard Street) in Toronto.

Chef Moreno Cedroni will celebrate the 23rd November in Prague, where he will prepare two dishes that will be included in the gala dinner menu organized by the Embassy of Italy. The menu will be made in collaboration with three other Italian chefs living in Prague. Cedroni will make a first dish typical of Amatrice and one typical of the Marchese cuisine. A few days later, the chef will cross the equator on the occasion of the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Australia and will set up a menu for a gala dinner 400 important institutional guests, organized by the Consulate of Italy.
In Paris, 47 Italian restaurants will celebrate Italian week, including Mori Venice Bar, the Bijou pizzeria and the Emporio Armani Caffè. Many events will also take place at the round table at the Italian Cultural Institute on the theme “Cuisine of Italy abroad: emigrants, restaurateurs and diplomats”, followed by a tasting of risotto, and the qualifications for the pesto world championship.
20 Michelin-star Italian chefs will cook live at FIVE Palm Jumeirah on 22 November at the “night of the stars” including three Michelin star Umberto Bombana of Otto e Mezzo Bombana in Hong Kongand Massimiliano Mascia, the head chef of the two-star San Domenico in Imola.
From 18 al 20 November “3 days of gastronomy of Italian markets” an exhibition dedicated to Italian food with musica and Italian food products will be on display in Praça da Figueira.

In Vietnam on the 19 and 20, Italian restaurants in Hanoi will organise two days of celebrations with real Italian food at the Waterpark di Tay.

The Institute of Italian Culture organises a series of events. On 21 November the chef Gino Campagna together with some other experts will present a seminar dedicated the Mediterranean diet: food and health. The Farhan Siki artwork will also be inaugurated, entitled “Food in Art”, dedicated to the event. Following, a piano concert by Master Alessandro Martire, featuring his latest album “Flames of Joy”. Other events will take place throughout the week.
